Directions to Bedford Sports and Hockey Centre (Clubhouse and Astros)
From M1, Jn 13 - signposted to Bedford A421. Stay on A421 then follow A6 signs to Bedford town centre until you reach a roundabout with Southwing Hospital on left, turn left at roundabout and at traffic lights at the end of this road turn right. At next set of traffic lights (immediately after going over railway line) turn left over the river along Prebend Street. At next roundabout turn left into Ford End Road (over bridge), follow road round sharp right hand bend, and go straight over next roundabout. Turn 3rd right into Chester Road, (Hockey Centre is signposted) and at the end of this road turn left and follow road into car park.

From A1 -Leave A1 at Sandy and follow the A603 to Bedford, going straight on at all roundabouts until you've passed Tesco's on the right. At the next roundabout turn left into Rope Walk, at the next roundabout take 3rd exit into Kingsway (towards County Hall), bear left keeping County Hall on your right, at the traffic lights turn right along Prebend Street (over river). Culford School : Culford School is about 3 miles north of Bury St Edmunds. Turn left into the school grounds opposite a telephone box and post box, then the sports centre, with changing facilities, is on your left and the pitch behind the centre.

from the south:

The clubhouse is situated behind Emmanuel College grounds, at the end of Staceys Lane, signposted to Cambridge City Hockey Club and Cambridge Lawn Tennis Club. Wilberforce Road is on the west side of Madingley Road (A 1303), however Wilberforce Road has been closed at the Madingley Road end and access is now via Grange Road and either Adams Road or Clarkson Road. Madingley Road runs approximately North West from the city centre, approximately 2 miles from Junction 13 on the M11.

West of City Centre. The Peter Boizot Artificial Turf is off Grantchester Road, which joins Barton Road (A603 to M11, Junction 12) opposite Wolfson College main gate. The turning on to Grantchester Road is approximately 1 mile from the M11 Junction 12, on the right.

The Leys School Sports Centre (off Trumpington Road)


Just South of City Centre, off Trumpington Road (A1309 to Junction 11 on M11). The changing facilities and parking are located off Trumpington Road, south of the main school buildings opposite the turning to Bateman Street. From M11, Junction 11 - follow A1309 in to City Centre. The turning is on the left, 0.5 mile after the lights / junction at the Evelyn Hospital (which you can see on your right).



Coldham's Common - Abbey Sports Centre, Whitehill Road


This is situated off Newmarket Road (A1303) on the East of the City. Turn off Newmarket Road into Whitehill Road - Whitehill Road is situated 400 meters to the East of Cambridge United Football Club on the same side of the road. Follow a badly located signpost to "Abbey Swimming Pool". The entrance to the sports centre is approximately 400 meters along Whitehill Road on the right.


The Perse Girls School, Latham Close.

From Junction 11 of the M11, follow the A1309 (Trumpington Road) for 2.5 miles towards the City Centre. Latham Road is on your left opposite the Evelyn Hospital. The clubhouse & pitch are on Latham Close, at the end of Latham Road. There is a car park at the pitch, however if this is full you MUST NOT park on Latham Road. Alternative parking is on Chaucer Road, the next turning left off Trumpington Road after Latham Road.

The Perse Boys School - Hills Road, Cambridge.

Between Addenbrooke's Hospital and the City Centre on the A1307 on the left hand side coming into town at pedestrian lights and a bus stop.

Visitors arriving from the London direction need to follow the A2 towards Dover. Take the Canterbury turn-off (this is the only one for the city). The slip way merges to a dual carriageway. Half a mile onwards, at the first roundabout, continue straight-ahead along the dual carriageway which will be skirting the old city walls..

Follow the road round to the right at the next roundabout, following the line of the city wall until meeting the third roundabout (Habitat on your right). Continue straight ahead at this and the next (fourth) roundabout (Police station to your right). Again continue straight on, but ease into the right hand lane in preparation for a right-hand turn at the fifth roundabout.

Turn right at this roundabout and away from the city wall. Keep in the left hand lane, and take the slip road left (at Safeways), just after a set of lights at a pedestrian crossing and before the main traffic lights.

Continue along to the mini-roundabout, turning right along this road (A257 to Sandwich) past the prison on the left and - after a steep hill - the Army barracks on the left. Continue, past the Canterbury Golf Club and a road junction (both on the left).

Polo Farm is less than half a mile past the Golf Club, on the left hand side of the road just after a long lay-by. Polo Farm is clearly sign-posted outside the club gates and grounds as the main road passes a long layby.

FROM THE NORTH:
Travel east on the A14 past Bury St Edmunds and Stowmarket, take the A140 to Norwich. After 3 miles at Earl Stonham, take the A1120 eastwards to Stonham Aspal and continue through the village to Earl Soham. For Framlingham College continue on the A1120 to Saxtead Green and turn right onto the B1119, signposted Framlingham. At the fork turn left into Pembroke Road, signposted College. At the T junction turn right and Framlingham College will be on the left-hand side.

FROM THE SOUTH:
Follow the A12 past Ipswich and Woodbridge, and take the B1116 signposted to Framlingham. For Framlingham College remain on the B1116 through Hacheston and Parham. On entering Framlingham, follow the signs for the B1116 and Dennington. As you climb the hill and leave the town, Framlingham College will be seen on the right-hand side.

By car - from the M2
Exit the M2 at junction 3 and head towards the A229 Chatham. Follow the A229 Chatham until you come to a large roundabout with a 'Formula 1 Motorists Centre' on your right. Carry straight on over the roundabout and stay in the left hand lane. As you approach the traffic lights, get into the left hand lane and turn left. Follow the road around to the left and turn right into the 'Park and Ride' car park just before the main gate to BAE SYSTEMS Avionics. From London: Take the M11 and exit at Junction 9 to join the A11, south of Cambridge. Remain on the A11, bypassing Newmarket, to the Mildenhall roundabout and take the second exit onto the A148. Follow directions from 'A148 Eastbound' below.

Follow the A12 towards Ipswich. On the outskirts of Ipswich the A12 meets the A14 at the Copdock Roundabout. Proceed straight across on the A1214, for Ipswich West, past the retail Park on the left and straight over another roundabout . You will then pass the Holiday Inn Hotel on your left, go straight on at the set of traffic lights. After 2.3mls the road comes down a steep hill to another set of lights just before a Sainsbury's petrol station. Get in the left hand lane at these lights and proceed straight over, passing the petrol station. At the next set of lights turn left onto the A1214, signed for Woodbridge. Keep following the Woodbridge signs straight over another set of lights and a double roundabout into Valley Road. After 1.3mls, at the top of a long slope there is a double set of traffic lights. Turn left at the 2nd set, signed for the Cricket Centre and Henley. This is Henley Road and the Club is on the right hand side about 1/4 mile from the lights

From A14
Take Junction 53 Ipswich West and North (A1156) Take 1st left at roundabout (Asda is straight ahead) and proceed into town. At next roundabout go straight over, you will then pass a Landrover garage on right hand side at a set of traffic lights. Follow road over set of traffic lights for about 2 miles until you reach a mini double roundabout. At the 1st roundabout turn left up Hill. Proceed up the hill onto Valley Road after 1.3mls, at the top of a long slope there is a double set of traffic lights. Turn left at the 2nd set, signed for the Cricket Centre and Henley. This is Henley Road and the Club is on the right hand side about 1/4 mile from the lights.

Take Junction 53 Ipswich West and North (A1156) Take 1st left at roundabout (Asda is straight ahead) and proceed into town. At next roundabout go straight over , you will then pass a Landrover garage on right hand side at a set of traffic lights. Follow road over set of traffic lights for about 2 miles until you reach a mini double roundabout. At the 1st roundabout turn left up Hill. Proceed up the hill onto Valley Road and over another set of lights at the top. Go straight over at the 1st roundabout. Follow the A12 towards Ipswich. On the outskirts of Ipswich the A12 meets the A14 at the Copdock Roundabout. Proceed straight across on the A1214, for Ipswich West, past the retail Park on the left and straight over another roundabout . You will then pass the Holiday Inn Hotel on your left, go straight on at the set of traffic lights. After 2.3mls the road comes down a steep hill to another set of lights just before a Sainsbury's petrol station. Get in the left hand lane at these lights and proceed straight over, passing the petrol station. At the next set of lights turn left onto the A1214, signed for Woodbridge. Keep following the Woodbridge signs straight over another set of lights and a double roundabout into Valley Road. DIRECTIONS TO PINEBANKS
Perhaps the easiest way to find Pinebanks is to approach it from the south. Ideally this means turning up Harvey Lane from Yarmouth Road. The actual turning for Pinebanks is marked as White Farm Lane, and is directly opposite a public house, the Morrison Lodge, as you come to the crest of the hill.
