Sudbury Ladies 3rd X1 2 - 2 Castaways Ladies

After a close game against Ipswich the previous week, sudbury were determind for a vital win before the christmas break. With 10 minutes gone in the first half, Sudbury made good chances but failed to convert any of the opportunities. With Castaways stepping up the pace, Sudbury struggled to keep up. Sudbury struggled to defend the short corner awarded, and it was 1-0 to Castaways at the break. With a positive team talk for Harrington and a quick shuffle around with attackers, Sudbury started the second half strong with Gattrell linking well with Stephens & Palmer, this forced for a short corner, which Spencer finished confidently. This picked up Sudbury head's and they started to focus and battle fully. Using both sides of play Gattrell, Stephens, Fitch-Holland, Palmer and Spencer spreading the play, stretching Castaways, which then allowed them to give away another short corner and again Spencer finished nicely. With 10 Minutes to go, Harrington demanding her defense to stay tight, the defense of Spurling, Dains Mclean, Kendel and Bonner kept any threatening balls out. But one final short corner was awarded to Castaways which they managed to slip passed the solid Sudbury defense. This left the final score at 2-2, again another great team performance.
